the car radio gives out
as you drive far away
i feel like my heart’s a radio
and maybe love’s the same way
as time passes by
like the night and the day
maybe love doesn’t last
maybe it, too, fades
like the breeze on the beach
and chalk in the rain
like memories of summertime
and fuzzy static waves

About the Contributor
Jillian Doheny, Staff Writer
Hi! My name is Jill Doheny, and I am a sophomore staff writer. I specialize in poetry and creative writing. Here at Gateway, I am not only involved in the Chomp, but I am also a part of the concert band, the Master Singers, Latin Club, GSA, softball, and basketball. In my free time, I enjoy writing (obviously), hanging out with my friends, reading, and spending time with my cats. When I graduate, I hope to pursue a career in creative writing, and I am so glad I can get experience from the Chomp!
