There were a lot of interesting and exciting costumes seen on Halloween night, ranging from favorite television characters to one of the scary monsters everyone knows and loves. Since there are so many different options, The Chomp decided to share some of the top Halloween costumes this year in the Gateway community.

The top three costume choices this year were Barbie, zombies, and characters from Scream! You probably saw some of these exciting costumes designed in so many different ways! We were able to talk with a few different people around Gateway to ask why they chose their costumes, and what made them so special.

We found our Principal, Dr. Pierro, and asked him why he had chosen his Ken costume. He had said, “Mrs. Belvin, one of the secretaries in the office, had the idea to have a group Halloween costume and thought it would be fun to dress up.”

We also asked what about his costume made it so special that it stuck out from the others. He replied, “When you work with people you enjoy being around, it’s nice to have a sense of community with them.”

After that, we got together with Ms. Powell to talk about her awesome Wednesday costume. Ms. Powell is normally a bright and welcoming person whenever you see her. So, seeing her so serious was definitely a change. We asked her what made her choose her Wednesday costume.

She explained, “The costume was simple and easy to throw together, and the complete opposite of me, so I thought it would be fun. I also didn’t wake up early enough last year in order to do something like this.”

Following that question, we asked Ms. Powell what made her costume so unique and different from the rest of the costumes seen throughout the school.

She replied, “I feel like what made mine so different is I was also acting as the character. Although, my favorite part is that I was walking around with my headless doll, which I think really added onto the costume.”

After meeting with everyone we think we can all agree that there were some amazing costume choices this year. This Halloween sure was a good one.

There were a bunch of different types of costumes, from cute, to scary, and funny. Let us know what your favorite Halloween costumes were this year!
