For the second consecutive year, I had the opportunity to take photos at the pep rally and homecoming game for my Creative Design II class. I was able to borrow a camera from Ms. Raubertas to capture the event and memories! I was really excited about this, as I want to develop my event photography skills further.
One challenge was that it’s very dark during the homecoming game. The camera I borrowed was good, but not incredible, and had some difficulty adjusting to low-light conditions while still getting clear pictures. Additionally, for the pep rally, I initially had a zoom lens, so I was limited in what I could get in frame. For the homecoming game, I brought both a zoom lens and a normal lens so it was not an issue.
This year, the schedule was set up differently; we had a pep rally during the school day followed by the homecoming game at 7 pm. Last year, we had powderpuff instead of the pep rally.
I’m really glad I was able to take photos for these events, and I look forward to attending more Gateway events to take pictures!
