Rylee Austermehle, Staff Writer
Hi, my name is Rylee Austermehle. This is my first year at Gateway, and I’m a sophomore. For most of my life I’ve done competitive English horseback riding, and travel softball as a catcher. I love traveling, and one of my goals is to study abroad in college, and learn about different cultures and ways of life. I’m really passionate about volunteering, and hopefully one day I can be an ambassador for Unicef and an advocate for women’s rights. My family and friends are the most important things in the world to me, and I don’t know where I would be without their support and love. I love acting and being a part of theater, it’s such a family and I hope to continue my acting journey here at Gateway. If you’re wondering why I love writing, well I’m here to tell you. I’ve always been the kid who loves school and learning, and from there came my love of reading and writing. Writing has always been an outlet for me to speak my truths freely, and talk about important issues I care about. I’m looking forward to growing my writing abilities, and meeting amazing passionate people through this experience. I hope you got to know a little more about me, and I truly believe we all have the power to make a difference and make our dreams a reality. We just have to stop thinking and start doing like Walt Disney always said! Let’s make this school year a fun one!
