About

In it’s lucky seventh year, The Chomp has a new site on SNO. Now that our new course, Introduction to Journalism & Student Publications is underway, we have a new professional site like surrounding area schools in which to showcase Gateway student writing about community and world events.

We ask that you return often and let us know how we’re doing as well as what ideas you have for us. Consider bookmarking us to your toolbar! You may interact with our writers by leaving a comment on stories, and be sure to check out our staff bio pages below this About tab since we’ve added many new writers via our new course. If you have attended a Gateway event and took clear photographs that you’d like to share, please email them to us and we will tag you with photography credit.

If you’d like to join The Chomp, email our advisor, Mrs. Barrett at [email protected], or email any editor through his/her bio contact links.

Please be sure to follow us via social media. Our tabs are conveniently located at the top of our page in the left corner and on side bar tabs while reading stories. You may share our stories to your social media pages, but be sure to give us proper credits, please.

We’d like to extend a warm thank you in appreciation to our longstanding supportive Gateway Administration and Board for believing in us and continuing to offer us a space to make the magic of student words matter. It is through sharing our ideas and engaging in discourse with our readers that we hope to strengthen our school’s community and reflect the hard work of Gateway’s students, staff, administration, and benevolent community members.

Let’s continue to support student writers and editors as they learn to investigate, document, research, write, and disseminate important events and stories at GRHS and within its greater communities.  Let’s live the goal of making young individuals active contributors of civic life because they have the capacity to affect how we all see the issues cared about in our school, community, and world.
