Though working as a counselor for sixteen years, Mrs. Morda has been working at Gateway as their Crisis Counselor for two years and has guided many students in their dealing with personal and school-related issues. We wanted to be sure to recognize how hard she works!
Mrs. Morda helps students from grades 7-12 here at Gateway. While she has worked at other places before Gateway, she decided to work here since it was an amazing opportunity to combine her crisis and counseling skills while working one one-on-one with the student body. She helps students with academic issues, personal issues, family issues, and much more. No matter who you are, or what you need, Mrs. Morda will always be open to giving you a helping hand.
Mrs. Morda did not always want to work in the counseling field. Originally, her passion for helping others drove her to teaching. The more she worked with others and saw her talent for counseling students and adults, she realized what her career path should be. Becoming a crisis counselor has its ups and downs, but Mrs. Morda loves connecting with students and allowing them to have a safe space. It can be a struggle, but she loves to help the students and their families heal.
Mrs. Morda can be found in the guidance office and is always willing to help. If you want to talk, try sending her an email at Mary Morda. It may be intimidating at first, but she is a kind soul who will always help when needed.
Thank you, Mrs. Morda, for constantly working hard with students who need it!
