Around 2009, there was a video game about beat boxing men, called Incredibox. It was a game where you drag icons on to men called Polos, so that the player could make their own song. It was a fairly popular game at the time.
NyankoBFLol made a Incredibox mod known as Sprunki around September of 2024. He said he made it for fun. It spread around the Internet because of its appearance.

From YouTube videos to posts on X, many people found comfort in Sprunki and a community was formed. There are twenty characters and this article focuses on six of them — Wenda, Gray, Oren, Brud, Simon, and Mr. Sun. The others are Raddy, Clukr, Fun Bot, Vineria, Garnold, OWAKCX, Sky, Durple, Mr. Tree, Tunner, Mr. Fun Computer, Pinki, Jevin, and Black.
The one and only Wenda
A character that is often recognized even outside of the community is Wenda, a white cat from that mod.
She is known to be paired with Gray, a pointy-eared gray critter mistaken for a cat or demon. Wenda often was depicted to be mean, aggressive, and violent in nature. The creator, NyankoBFLol, has stated that she has a rude personality.
Gray
Gray is another character recognized even outside of the Sprunki community. According to NyankoBFLol, he is not a cat and rather unknown. Artists in the community often depicted him as a demon, complete with a demon tail. Although Gray and Wenda are often paired together, Wenda does not actually like him. NyankoBFLol does not like when the Sprunki community pairs the two.
Oren
The first character in the mod is Oren. He is an orange alien appearing critter. He wears a pair of headphones and has a line on his forehead indicating hair. He has a different, unnerving version of himself in the horror mode where he has an exposed heart and lungs. Oren has no job and is unrelated to the other characters. He likes pizza.
Brud
Brud is a brown Sprunki. His face is derpy, with noticeably lazy eyes that are position outwards. He wears a bucket on his head. In the horror mode, Brud’s bucket is removed and Simon was responsible for biting his head.
Simon
Simon is an interesting character because he is the main protagonist of the normal mode. While Simon and Oren look alike they are not related; they are best friends. His voice is a 8-bit sound as he is one of the Melodies. He is a good dentist and he enjoys chocolate. In the horror mode he loses his eyes and has an abnormally large, toothy grin.
Mr. Sun
Mr. Sun is one of the three characters that do not appear similar to the other Sprunki characters. In the normal mode, his whole body dances from left to right. In the horror mode, he is not visibly dancing and has only one eye. The eye moves left to right as he sings. Canonically, Mr. Sun is friends with everyone, including Raddy, who has no other friends. Also his voice is piano sound.
Sprunki’s Massive Impact
The popularity of Sprunki-related content has sparked a trend, leading to the creation of viral videos and a noticeable cultural impact, with comparisons drawn to other popular phenomena like Skibidi Toilet, The Amazing Digital Circus, Dandy’s World, and Poppy Playtime. Additionally, some artists have embraced the influence of Sprunki, creating their interpretations of its characters, often giving them human or animalistic features or even both. Sprunki has opened minds and inspired creativity within the art community!
The Truth
NyankoBFLol was not too proud of his creation. When it blew up, he didn’t want Sprunki to be more popular than Incredibox, so he created a hashtag to promote other Incredibox mods for people to check out.
When his social media accounts were hacked, it put a lot of pressure on him. Luckily, he was able to post on his YouTube community tab that his Discord, Scratch, and other accounts were hacked. He no longer talks about Sprunki because it was too popular and caused him too much stress. While he no longer feels comfortable talking about Sprunki, he’s alright with fan content of it, and he’s okay with other people posting about it.
The game may be dead, but content revolving around Sprunki is still being made by YouTube channels, such as GameToons, BENJIxScarlett, Hornstromp Games, Gummy Dora, and Tyler & Snowi. It is still being promoted even if NyankoBFLol is done with it. Children who enjoy or engage in Sprunki related content would be watching these videos.
