Last week humans scrapped
in forests,
Each berry and carcass was ours–
We hunted, we gathered,
We made huts of sticks,
Decorated with vines and flowers.
Just days ago we made
villages,
Fresh discoveries galore–
We sailed, we mapped
We colonized,
The friend, the foe, the flore.
Yesterday we surely hit
a boom,
Technology all the rage–
We built, we worked,
We made economy,
Typewriter letters filled each page.
Today’s a peak for
modernity,
Each social media post–
We shop, we text,
We learn the world,
More to life, and more to boast.
No clue about
tomorrow,
But maybe something wild-
We’ll grow, we’ll shine,
We always evolve,
But ‘tomorrow’ won’t be here for a while.
