Kung Fu Panda 4 is yet another great installation in the Kung Fu Panda series. In it, Jack Black stars again as the voice of Po in the animated film. I think it’s a good film with an even better message of kindness and doing the right thing.
In the movie, Po, the former dragon warrior, is trying to figure out his new responsibilities of being the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace and take the place of his mentor, Shifu (Dustin Hoffman). Shifu sends him on a search to find a dragon warrior successor. However, Po doesn’t want to give up his life of kicking butt and being the dragon warrior for a life of just giving wisdom.
His search is cut short by Zhen (Awkwafina) a thieving fox. After being caught and imprisoned, she tells Po about the Chameleon (Viola Davis), a new mysterious villain. With the threat of Chameleon taking over the Valley, the two go on a journey to try and stop Chameleon.
Their journey takes them to Juniper City where Po experiences sights, sounds, and life in the big city. Worried about him, both of Po’s parents, Li Shan (Bryan Cranston) and Mr. Ping (James Hong) follow their son on a comical journey.
In conclusion, Kung Fu Panda 4 is a good kids movie. It had a great theme, a good storyline, and decent humor. If you have a little sibling or cousin, Kung Fu Panda 4 is a good movie to to watch when it comes out on streaming services. Just get ready for said little sibling or cousin to scream “Skadoosh” all day.
The movie is rated PG, has a run-time of 1 hour and 34 minutes, and is currently as of 3/9/24 in theatres.
